The Association for Professional Appliance Testing (BAPAT) is a collective organisation of UK based Portable Appliance Testing companies, manufacturers of specialist test equipment, associated safety training providers and legislators striving to promote good practice and services throughout the industry of In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment.

BAPAT aim to educate the business community from the sole trader to corporate businesses on the need to maintain electrical safety for all persons involved in that business and to assist them to understand all aspects of Portable Appliance Testing from the legislation that applies through to the selection of a professional test engineer to undertake that work.

We also lobby for greater awareness from the Government and Local Authorities through to individual businesses to ensure that only those test engineers who deliver to the highest technical and professional standards are selected to maintain electrical safety by achieving a National Standard.

The Association For Professional Appliance Testing is currently being administered entirely by volunteers with a passion and a commitment that is entirely dedicated to ALL involved with the In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment.

We have successfully met the enrolment requirements to be come a Registered member of the association, from 1st December 2011.
