PAT Testing in Schools, Colleges, Nurseries

If your a school, college, nursery or any other educational establishment the first thing you need to do is check:

How often are you being PAT Tested?

If the answer is annually then you are probably being tested too often.

In this environment all your equipment that the students don’t have access to, doesn’t need PAT Testing every year.

Think of the savings on your budget; the average school has in excess of 1000 items. Approx 50% of these will not be in areas used by students, such as offices – would you like to cut your PAT Testing costs in half?

Better still – we would test areas accessed by students (e.g. classrooms) annually, but those other areas would only need testing every 4 years! That means your costs are halved for three years, or over the course of 4 years you save approximately 60% of what your currently spending.

The only exception to this rule is the kitchens – if they are managed by you then they need PAT Testing every year.
